What we do

Educating, empowering and enabling street connected children and mothers to transform their lives is not an easy task, but it is not impossible.

What Does Gap Kenya Do?

Gap Kenya runs several projects designed to educate, empower, and enable street connected children and mothers living on the streets and garbage dumps in Mombasa.

Where possible, the charity will repatriate children to their former homes although this is always dependent on the reason a child is homeless in the first place.

Educating, empowering and enabling street connected children and mothers to transform their lives is not an easy task, but it is not impossible. Take a look at just some of the lives which have been changed through the work of Gap Kenya.

Gap Kenya is happy to collaborate with other organisations able to provide additional impact. Organisations such as SOS Children’s Villages have taken children attending the Gap Kenya’s Day Care Centre (called Stepping Stones) into their own programmes – children who would not have been considered without the input from Stepping Stones and the subsequent changes in the children in terms of behaviour, values and self-esteem.

Gap Kenya will never be able to eradicate the problem of street children but it strives to help as many children as it can whilst providing a service based around quality as much as quantity.
